सेता बापला
सेता बापला/दा़यहा़ बापला (कुत्ते/वृक्ष से विवाह) विश्वास के आधार पर लोगों के मन में अनेक शंकाएं उठती रहती हैं। मानव मन को बदलने में शंकाओं ने महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई है।
कई ऐसी घटनाएं हुई हैं कि मामूली से शारीरिक परिवर्तन को भी संदेह की दृष्टि से देखा जाने लगा। मनुष्य स्वयं को संदेह से दूर रखने का हर संभव प्रयास करता है।
संताल समुदाय में भी कई ऐसी मान्यताएं हैं जो अपशकुन या कष्ट के रूप में प्रकट होने की संभावनाओं को स्पष्ट करती हैं।
ऐसी ही एक घटना है ‘सेता बापला’ या ‘दा़यहा़ बापला’ यानी ‘कुत्ते से विवाह’ या ‘दा़यहा़ बापला’ यानी पेड़ से विवाह करना। संतालों के मिथक के अनुसार सेता बापला का संबंध मानव जन्म से है।
इन लोगों के अनुसार इसका संबंध बचपन की उस अवस्था से है जब बच्चे का पहला दांत निकलता है। समुदाय में बच्चे के “यदि नीचे का दांत पहले निकल जाए तो वह बच्चा मनुष्य होता है और यदि जिस बच्चे का ऊपर का दांत पहले निकल जाए, तो वह मनुष्य न होकर दोषपूर्ण दर्द वाला होगा। “इसे ‘सेता डाटा’ यानी कुत्ते का दांत कहा गया है। उनकी मान्यता के अनुसार यह दांत किसी अज्ञात पीड़ा का संकेत है।
समुदाय ने इस दर्द से बचने के दो कारण खोजे हैं। पहला- कुत्ते से शादी और दूसरा- ‘दा़यहा़’ पेड़ से शादी।
कुछ लोग कहते हैं कि “कुत्ते की उम्र इंसान से कम होती है, जिसके कारण लड़का/लड़की जल्द ही विधवा हो जाते हैं। जबकि पेड़ की उम्र लंबी होती है इसलिए वह लंबे समय तक रहेगा। इस कारण दा़यहा़ पेड़ से शादी करना सही रहेगा।”
ऐसा माना जाता है कि स्थानीय और भौगोलिक वातावरण के प्रभाव के कारण सभी स्थानों पर दा़यहा़ के पेड़ नहीं पाए जाते। ऐसी स्थिति में कुत्ते/कुतिया से विवाह कराकर उन्हें दोष से मुक्ति दिलाई जाती है। क्षेत्रीय प्रभाव के कारण यह प्रथा अलग-अलग रीति-रिवाजों के साथ की जाती है।

Seta Bapala / Dayha Bapala (Marriage with a dog / tree) Many doubts keep arising in the minds of people on the basis of belief. Doubts played an important role in changing the human mind.
There are many such incidents that even the slightest physical changes started being viewed with suspicion. Man makes every possible effort to keep himself away from doubts.
There are many such beliefs in the Santal community too which clarify the possibilities of appearing in the form of bad omen or suffering.
One such incident is ‘Seeta Bapala’ or ‘Dahya Bapala’ i.e. ‘marriage with a dog’ or ‘Dahya Bapala’ is to marry a tree. According to the myth of the Santals, Seta Bapala is related to human birth.
According to these people, it is related to the stage of childhood when the child’s first tooth comes out. In the community, the child’s “If the lower tooth comes out first, then that child is a human being and if the child whose upper tooth comes out first, then he will not be a human being but will have a defective pain. “It has been called ‘Seeta Data’ i.e. dog’s tooth. According to their belief, this tooth is a sign of some unknown pain.
The community has found two reasons to avoid this pain. First – marriage with a dog and second – marriage with a ‘Daiya’ tree.
Some people say that “The lifespan of a dog is less than that of a human being, due to which the boy/girl becomes a widow soon. Whereas the lifespan of a tree is long and hence it will remain for a long time. Therefore it will be right to marry the Daiya tree.”
It is believed that due to the influence of local and geographical environment, Daiya trees are not found in all places.
In such a situation, they get rid of the defect by marrying a dog / bitch. This practice is done with different customs due to regional influence.
